When River Mumma Walks on Land

When River Mumma Walks on Land

There are moments when the spirit of River Mumma, guardian of Jamaica’s waterways, leaves the cool waters of her river and journeys onto the land.

She does not walk barefoot.

She adorns her feet with Job’s Tears, the sacred seeds that carry stories of resilience, protection and overcoming.

Her soleless sandals follow her like a trail of blessings—from water to land, from myth to woman, from story to story.

And wherever River Mumma walks, the river remembers.
