Inspired by a beautiful story I was told by a friend from Haiti, -he spoke about mermaids who followed the ships, the slaves ships that is and when someone died and was thrown overboard the mermaid or simbi would hold them and swim them back home. You might also imagine that the Atlantic Ocean is full of black mermaids.
